 Continuous vocational training

The Regional Vocational Training Development Plan: a major tool for Region Alsace

In 1993, the law entrusted the Region with the development of the Regional Vocational Training Development Plan (PRDF). Region Alsace set up a regional programme to include various collective training courses aimed at specific audiences (job seekers, people who already had a job and company creation project sponsors) offering courses with a view to a rapid return to work or a professional promotion. As a complement to this programme, the Region funds two types of individual vocational training and customised educational workshops.

In addition, Region Alsace has put systems in place to monitor training and the search for work. Likewise, the regional collective offers remuneration for trainees without work in such a way as to help them follow their course under the best possible conditions, particularly in the health and social sector.

The courses, discovering the world of work

Tools essential to a sound beginning to working life, the courses are vital. This is why Region Alsace has established several grants to foster these professional experiences. The Test Bed offers young people the chance to take a one- or two-week training course in a company. The "insertion cheque" enables young people without qualifications or with a low level of qualification to take a short training course in the professional world. The objective of the experience acquired is to facilitate recruitment on completion of the course.

The Region is taking steps to assist in the qualification of the working population!

The Region helps to raise the qualification level of employees and maintain jobs. It is involved alongside various partners (employers, OPCA, ASSEDIC, State, etc.) in training poorly qualified people, improving the qualification level of people already in employment though the validation of acquired experience (VAE) or qualification methodologies and increase the “employability” of employed people who find themselves suddenly out of work.

This work translates into concerted training action plans as well as actions directly negotiated with companies, recourse to various systems (regional training programme, insertion cheque, etc.) or assistance with professional retraining (professional retraining premium).
